Alain Haut


Born in Belgium, Alain Haut earned his Masters in Economics and Social Sciences from the University Notre-Dame of Peace (Namur – Belgium) followed by post-graduate studies in Business Administration at Warwick University (England – UK).

After a few years with Management Centre Europe as Programme Director and later as Head of the Executive Compensation Service (now part of Towers-Watson), Alain enjoyed a 35year corporate career (in automotive, high technology and life sciences) mainly in International Human Resources Management working with leading multinational companies including GTE/Sylvania (now Verizon), Federal Mogul, Serono (now Merck Serono), Covance and Ipsen. His work has spanned geographical areas from Benelux, through Western and Eastern Europe, through the Middle East and Africa, to a global role including, amongst others, large business units in USA and Asia. Alain lived and worked in six different countries and in addition to Human Resources, he also had roles in Project, Total Quality and General Management.

In 2008, Alain established O plc, a management consulting company specialising in the fields of Performance, Leadership (development and acquisition) and Change, and Human Resources matters in general (including coaching).

In addition to his consulting activities, Alain has become a Professor of Leadership, Management and Human Resources at Lausanne Business School (BSL) and University of Business and International Studies in Geneva (UBIS), both at Master and Bachelor levels. He is also Professor for the course of Talent Attraction and Retention at the Lorange Institute of Business (now part of CEIBS – China) in Zurich (Executive MBA level). And he is a visiting Professor at the International Management Institute of Kiev (MIM) in Current Issues in Human Capital Management (DBA level).

Alain Haut is also a Corporate Peer Reviewer for the EQUIS and EPAS business schools and programmes accreditation and has recently been elected to the EPAS Accreditation Board with the European Foundation for Management Development.
